The Role

We are now recruiting for an experienced Office Manager to join our Carlisle office and wider Administration Service Line.

This position is fully office based and the successful candidate will be contracted to work 37.5 hours per week (08:30 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, with a one hour unpaid lunch break per day).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the Administration team is fully competent and proficient in their roles, providing training and support as necessary.
  • Conducting formal performance appraisals of Administrative staff in partnership with the Head of Operations.
  • Maintaining smooth office operations, assisting staff with queries and ensuring issues are addressed efficiently.
  • Co‑ordinating with the Property Manager on office‑related matters and performing related tasks when required.
  • Collaborating with HR and the Health & Safety Committee on all health and safety matters and completing associated tasks.
  • Managing the office database and overseeing related projects.

The Candidate

  • Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent time‑keeping ability.
  • Proficient use of IT systems and standard Microsoft Office packages (Teams, Word, Excel).
  • Experience line‑managing Administrative staff, including 1‑1s, appraisals and reviews.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Previous office or administrative working experience.
  • Friendly manner when liaising with colleagues, visitors and clients, ensuring they feel comfortable.
