Your new companyAn established, independent accountancy practice based in Fareham, offering a supportive and professional environment with long-standing client relationships.The client base is broad and interesting, including sole traders, partnerships, UK limited companies, and multinational groups with UK subsidiaries.Your new roleYour new roleAs Accounts Senior, you’ll manage a varied portfolio and take responsibility for work from initial records through to accounts ready for review and sign-off.Key responsibilities will include:Preparing statutory accounts to review / partner sign-off stageAccounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companiesPreparing corporation tax computations and returnsPreparation and submission of VAT returnsReviewing bookkeeping and correcting client recordsCompleting accounts from incomplete or poor-quality recordsWorking extensively with Xero (and associated apps)Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and obtain informationSupporting and reviewing junior team members where requiredWorking with managers on more complex or group entities
What you’ll need to succeedProven experience within a UK accountancy practiceMinimum requirement: ability to prepare a full set of statutory accounts for review/sign-offStrong experience reviewing bookkeeping and dealing with incomplete recordsConfident user of XeroExperience with corporation tax and VAT complianceComfortable with regular client liaisonAAT, ACA or ACCA (qualified or studying) welcomed, but practical experience is keyOrganised, commercially aware, and capable of working independentlyWhat you’ll get in returnCompetitive salary depending on experienceHybrid working once probation is successfully completedIndependent practice culture with minimal red tapeVaried clients and technically interesting workA role with autonomy, trust, and long-term progression potential
