Cobalt is delighted to be representing a highly regarded commercial property owner in the search for an Assistant Building Manager to join the team at one of London’s most prominent commercial office assets.
This is a newly created role within the building, offering the successful individual the opportunity to step into a highly visible position with genuine scope for progression, exposure to an exceptional leadership team, and the chance to develop within one of the market’s most respected real estate platforms
Working closely with the Operations Manager, this role will suit an ambitious Assistant Facilities, Building or Estate Manager, as well as a Building Manager from a boutique asset looking to gain trophy-asset experience.
Key responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operational management of a large multi-let commercial office building
- Oversee soft services including cleaning, security, reception, service desk, and associated contractor performance.
- Build and maintain strong occupier relationships, ensuring a consistently high level of customer service delivery.
- Chair contractor meetings and support service partner performance reviews against agreed SLAs and KPIs.
- Conduct regular building inspections, identifying operational improvements and ensuring remedial actions are completed.
- Assist with the management of health & safety compliance, audits, fire drills, and statutory processes.
- Support sustainability and ESG-focused initiatives across the asset.
- Coordinate small works projects and monitor contractor delivery on site.
- Assist with service charge budget monitoring, purchase orders, and financial administration.
- Support occupier communications and property-wide engagement initiatives.
- Deputise for the Operations Manager when required and contribute to the wider operational strategy of the building.
- Maintain accurate operational records and support CAFM and reporting processes where applicable.
As the successful applicant, you’ll be able to demonstrate a foundation of knowledge within Facilities & Building Management within a Real Estate environment. You’ll be confident managing multi-let assets and be familiar with service charge budgets, common parts maintenance (including plant rooms) and contractor management. An IOSH Managing Safely is essential for this role, whilst further qualifications such as IWFM membership would be viewed positively.
