The Role
The role of a Band 6 Occupational Therapist within the AHP Team in the surgical department at IRH focuses on delivering patient-centred care, specialist assessment, rehabilitation and complex discharge planning. You will also contribute to MDT working, support staff and students, and help develop the AHP service in surgical and critical care settings.

Base location: Surgical department, Inverclyde Royal Hospital (IRH)
Permanent, Part-time
Shift Pattern: 5/7
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist clinical assessments and rehabilitation
- Lead and coordinate complex discharge planning
- Work collaboratively within the MDT
- Supervise support staff and students
- Contribute to AHP service development within the surgical and critical care areas
Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience
- Post-graduate experience in a relevant clinical area
- Experience supervising staff and students
- Experience in service development
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration (essential)
- Skills: adaptability, creativity, strong communication, teamwork, and motivation to advance the AHP surgical service
