Overview
We’re looking for a Director of Product Design to lead design for our table management system and private dining teams at OpenTable. You’ll manage a global team of product designers and collaborate closely with product managers, engineering, research, data science, design systems, brand design, and more to deliver value to our customers and create experiences that impact restaurants and diners worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Partner with product development colleagues and leaders to optimize processes and improve collaboration.
- Oversee design quality and create space for innovation.
- Mentor and support direct reports in their career growth.
- Drive design for native apps and web experiences, ensuring best practices across platforms.
- Manage design for B2B or ambiguous spaces and uphold excellence in education and policy.
- Use data to inform decision‑making and build consensus across disciplines.
- Develop and evangelize a vision, creating comprehensive plans and stories to share with stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively in verbal and written forms, including presentations to internal audiences.
- Apply critical thinking, collaboration, and feedback loops to continually improve team and products.
Qualifications & Experience
- Hands‑on experience in product design with ability to set and maintain user experience standards.
- Proven track record of growing designers and design managers.
- Deep expertise in native apps and web experiences, and understanding of platform nuances.
- Extensive experience designing for B2B or ambiguous spaces.
- Data‑driven mindset, consistently using data to inform decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management; build consensus across multiple disciplines.
- Systems‑thinking, analytical, problem‑solving, and interpretation skills.
- Storytelling ability for effective verbal and written communication.
- Critical thinker who values balanced debate and compassionate conviction.
- Collaboration mindset and desire for feedback and continuous introspection.

- Experience in the restaurant industry and/or passion for food and dining.
- Experience working on dual‑market products.
