Job Description:

CHAP Group Limited are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead all personnel on site and manage day to day site operations. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, to a high standard and within budget.

Main tasks

  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations and company standards.
  • Take responsibility for day-to-day site decisions to maximise efficiency and profitability.
  • Liaise with the design team to manage drawings, specifications, and timely implementation of TQs.
  • Supervise all site personnel, allocating daily tasks and ensuring clear communication of work requirements.
  • Identify training and development needs within the team and support delivery of training where required.
  • Maintain high quality standards through ITP inspections, issuing defect notices, and overseeing rectification works.
  • Monitor contract and target programmes, producing 2–4 week look-ahead schedules to ensure resources meet project demands.
  • Review and propose programme or design improvements to enhance delivery and margin (subject to approval).
  • Review specifications and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate material take-offs, supported by clear documentation and marked-up drawings.

Qualifications & Criteria

Essential

  • CITB SMSTS certification.
  • Valid CSCS Card.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary construction projects.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and influence teams.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • IT literate, including Microsoft Office.

Desirable

  • Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • NVQ/SVQ Level 4 in Construction Management (or working towards).
  • Trade background or construction apprenticeship.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in site supervision or project management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage on-site challenges.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry best practice.

This role is expected to commence in July/August 2026.
