Nursery – Cramond

Salary£31,241 per annum (dependent on qualification/s and experience)

Location – Edinburgh

We are looking for a Room Leader to join our Cramond nursery.

Bright Horizons Cramond Early Learning and Childcare is a purpose‑built nursery located in the Cramond area of north‑west Edinburgh. The setting offers high‑quality early years education and childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years, supporting families across the local community.

Set in the green outskirts of the city, the nursery provides a welcoming, nurturing environment with age‑specific playrooms, well‑resourced indoor spaces, and multiple outdoor learning areas. Children benefit from a broad curriculum aligned to Scotland’s Curriculum for Excellence and delivered through play‑based learning, exploration, and regular outings into the local community, including parks, beaches, and woodland areas.

Responsibilities

As a Room Leader, you will lead, mentor, support, and inspire a team to deliver exceptional care and education, helping all children within the room to develop and meet their individual milestones. You will promote and ensure child welfare, health and safety, and safeguarding, and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to meet each child’s needs.

Qualifications

  • Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
  • Previous experience working within an Early Years setting – ideally as a Room Leader, Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator or similar
  • Passion for creating fun and inclusive learning environments
  • Strong understanding of the Scottish Curriculum
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
  • Ability to develop trust and strong working partnerships with both colleagues and parents/carers
  • Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults
