Role: Property Litigation Solicitor – Leeds

Leading law firm looking to recruit dedicated Property Litigation Solicitors for a sought permanent position. The firm serves corporate entities and private individuals across England and Wales and is recognised by The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners.

Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Department Director.
  • Maintain a professional, proactive approach with strong client care skills and a sensitive understanding of clients’ needs.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation work and, where appropriate, provide technical expertise and guidance to other team members.
  • Manage caseloads that vary in type and complexity.
  • Attend client meetings, take instructions, and prepare cases.
  • Deal with correspondence and maintain accurate time‑costing procedures.
  • Implement recommendations from monthly file reviews promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with file‑management procedures.

Key Tasks

  • Boundary disputes – resolving disagreements between neighbours about property lines.
  • Landlord and tenant issues – handling rent arrears, lease breaches, eviction proceedings, and lease renewals.
  • Rights of way and easements – advising on access rights and land usage.
  • Nuisance and trespass claims – managing cases where a property use interferes with another.
  • Disputes over property ownership – dealing with co‑ownership disagreements or trust claims.
  • Development issues – resolving disputes related to property development, restrictive covenants, and planning.
  • Disrepair – acting for landlords and tenants.
  • Mortgage repossessions.
  • Commercial property matters – lease‑related issues such as dilapidations, arrears, and forfeiture.

  • Valid Practising Certificate and clean standing with no disciplinary action.

  • Customer‑focused with professional, proactive client care and sensitivity to complex practicalities.
  • Excellent networking, communication, and new‑business development skills.
  • Strong analytical and organisational abilities.
  • Sound initiative, independent judgment, and sound use of own expertise.
  • Working knowledge of publicly funded litigation and the ability to service privately funded cases.
  • Experience with probate‑related litigation.
  • Advocacy experience is an advantage.
  • IT skills – proficient in Microsoft Office and document‑management systems.
