Senior Research Technician – Environmental Engineering

The Role and the Department

You will join our Engineering Department to support research investigating interactions between microorganisms and nematodes in culture-based assays and soil environments. The role is a short‑term fixed‑term position available to start immediately.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain biological research infrastructure for the project.
• Support the maintenance of C. elegans and other environmental nematode species.
• Work independently within a small team led by Dr Ciara Keating.
• Assist in experimental design, data collection, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience with C. elegans maintenance is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with laboratory techniques in microbiology or nematode work.
• Strong organisational and independent work skills.
