Responsibilities
- Planning Feasibility Outline and detailed designs for major highways and infrastructure projects
- Overall Project and Programme Management
- Development and Preparation of Technical Specifications
- Preparation of Tender Packages and Tender Evaluation
- Commercial support throughout the lifecycle of a project
- Act as a project manager to manage the delivery of complex infrastructure projects, manage proposal development, undertake Business Development initiatives, and undertake hands‑on design input.
- Provide workload to others in the team and other disciplines, mentor and coach early‑career engineers, and support sector and client leads.
- Provide input into strategic direction, planning and development, creating new opportunities and prospects, enhancing and broadening team capacity and capability, recruiting new staff, identifying target markets and developing future strategies.
- Work across other sectors with SLR staff in disciplines including Advisory, Environmental Management and Compliance, Land and Water and Environmental Specialist Services Groups.
- Travel across Europe and internal Business development in a consultancy environment.
Qualifications
- A solid track record managing projects and teams, working in the UK on highways and infrastructure projects.
- Proven business development capabilities and the ability to manage high level client relationships and to win and deliver new work through both existing and new client contacts.
- Strong leadership, project management, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, and managing, mentoring and coaching staff.
- Demonstrable knowledge of UK engineering guidance, including hydraulic design standard and processes. Experience working on Hydraulic Feasibility Studies, Detailed Drainage Strategies, Flood Risk Assessments and SC104 Detailed Design.
- Member of Institute of Civil Engineers or similar.
- Must have a full, current, driving licence valid in the UK.
- Procurement and specification writing.
