Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Planning Feasibility Outline and detailed designs for major highways and infrastructure projects
  • Overall Project and Programme Management
  • Development and Preparation of Technical Specifications
  • Preparation of Tender Packages and Tender Evaluation
  • Commercial support throughout the lifecycle of a project
  • Act as a project manager to manage the delivery of complex infrastructure projects, manage proposal development, undertake Business Development initiatives, and undertake hands‑on design input.
  • Provide workload to others in the team and other disciplines, mentor and coach early‑career engineers, and support sector and client leads.
  • Provide input into strategic direction, planning and development, creating new opportunities and prospects, enhancing and broadening team capacity and capability, recruiting new staff, identifying target markets and developing future strategies.
  • Work across other sectors with SLR staff in disciplines including Advisory, Environmental Management and Compliance, Land and Water and Environmental Specialist Services Groups.
  • Travel across Europe and internal Business development in a consultancy environment.

Qualifications

  • A solid track record managing projects and teams, working in the UK on highways and infrastructure projects.
  • Proven business development capabilities and the ability to manage high level client relationships and to win and deliver new work through both existing and new client contacts.
  • Strong leadership, project management, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, and managing, mentoring and coaching staff.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of UK engineering guidance, including hydraulic design standard and processes. Experience working on Hydraulic Feasibility Studies, Detailed Drainage Strategies, Flood Risk Assessments and SC104 Detailed Design.
  • Member of Institute of Civil Engineers or similar.
  • Must have a full, current, driving licence valid in the UK.
  • Procurement and specification writing.
