Hyster-Yale’s Frimley Robotics Engineering Centre is a hidden gem in the UK’s autonomy landscape, staffed by about 20 engineers developing real automation technology for production‑scale industrial trucks. The team targets around 500 automated units in 2026 within a backdrop of 100,000 vehicles manufactured annually. With on‑site workshop and development lab, software, electrical and mechanical engineers collaborate on tangible, deployed systems.
Role Summary
The Software Service / Automation Field Engineer works hands‑on with real hardware in a fast‑moving, collaborative team. Acting as the critical buffer between core engineering teams and customer sites across the UK and Europe, this role protects the engineering team from field disruption and ensures smooth, reliable deployments. It is not desk‑based; the engineer alternates between site visits and remote troubleshooting.
