The role
The role: Be part of a team delivering the next generation of secure military communications satellites for the UK Ministry of Defence.
This work provides resilient, high‑performance connectivity for the UK, its allies and Defence personnel worldwide, playing a critical role in protecting national security as space becomes more contested and demand for secure data continues to grow.

What will I be doing?
- Provides security engineering designs and implementation in all aspects of Information Assurance and Information Security (InfoSec) Engineering.
- Assesses and mitigates system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle;
- validates system security requirements definition and analysis;
- establishes system security designs; implements security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures;
- verifies security requirements; performs system certification and accreditation planning and testing and liaison activities, and supports secure systems operations and maintenance.
- Develops innovative solutions to a range of complex problems that are consistent with organizational objectives.
- Works without direction. Work is reviewed upon completion and is consistent with departmental objectives.
- Guides major projects to completion and may function in leadership role. Decisions are long-lasting and heavily influences the organization. Engages with senior personnel on significant matters.
- Actively contributes to the development of new concepts. Possesses full knowledge of industry and company practices, demonstrating expertise in the field and related disciplines.
Required skills, qualifications and experience
- The candidate will have experience of the design, development, implementation and accreditation of high-grade cryptographic systems.
- Experience of space systems and their command and control systems would be an advantage.
- Significant related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.
- Skills and experience relating to high grade cryptography and cryptographic devices is highly desirable.
