Overview

Santander UK is looking for an IBS, ITOL, Mapping & Vulnerability Manager based out of Unity Place, Milton Keynes or Glasgow. The purpose of the role is to oversee the entire lifecycle of data within the organisation from acquisition and storage to analysis and dissemination. Responsible for ensuring that data assets are managed effectively, securely and in compliance with regulations and organisational policies.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the annual Important Business Services (IBS) refresh and importance assessment, supported by structured methodologies and data validation controls.
  • Delivering ITOL (Impact Tolerance) calibration using quantitative models and evidence-based challenge frameworks.
  • Designing and maintaining end-to-end service mapping architecture, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and traceability across systems and processes.
  • Implementing data-led dependency modelling across technology, cyber, data, and third-party ecosystems to identify systemic vulnerabilities.
  • Developing mapping data models, lineage, and integration pipelines to enable consistent and scalable resilience insights.
  • Establishing data quality frameworks and controls to ensure mapping integrity, consistency, and audit readiness.
  • Driving vulnerability identification through advanced analytics, linking mapping outputs to risk registers, remediation actions, and Board-level MI.
  • Providing SME challenge across multiple domains (technology, cyber, data, third-party) to ensure robust resilience outcomes.

  • Experience designing and implementing end-to-end service mapping, dependency modelling, or operational resilience frameworks (Required).
  • Strong experience in data analysis, data modelling, and data-driven risk identification (Required).
  • Experience working with IBS, ITOL, or regulatory resilience frameworks within financial services (Required).
  • Experience delivering complex data integration or transformation programmes (Preferred).

Education

  • Undergraduate degree in Data, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (Preferred).
  • Professional certifications in Data Management, Risk, or Operational Resilience frameworks (Preferred).

Languages

  • English (Required).

Hard Skills

  • Strong knowledge of data modelling, data lineage, and mapping architecture (Required).
  • Experience with data integration, data flows, and dependency mapping across complex systems (Required).
  • Expertise in data quality frameworks, validation techniques, and control design (Required).
  • Understanding of operational resilience frameworks (IBS, ITOL) and regulatory expectations (Required).
  • Experience applying analytical techniques to identify systemic risk and vulnerabilities (Required).
  • Knowledge of information architecture and data governance frameworks (Preferred).

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability (Required).
  • Ability to translate complex technical mapping into business and risk insights (Required).
  • Excellent stakeholder management across technology, risk, and business teams (Required).
  • Ability to challenge effectively and influence senior stakeholders (Required).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts (Required).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: £54,000.00 – £81,000.00 per annum (depending on experience).
  • 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, increases to 31 days after 5 years of service, with option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year.
