Job Description:

Our client is a rapidly growing, PE‑backed renewable energy platform that develops, builds, owns and operates biomethane waste‑to‑energy facilities across the UK. Following significant investment and continued growth, they are seeking a hands‑on Financial Controller to play a key role in strengthening the finance function and supporting the next phase of expansion. This is a highly visible position working closely with senior leadership and operational teams within a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the month‑end reporting process and producing accurate management accounts
  • Developing and enhancing financial controls, governance and reporting frameworks
  • Managing budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting
  • Supporting statutory reporting, audit processes and technical accounting matters
  • Overseeing fixed asset accounting, project accounting and capital expenditure reporting
  • Driving improvements in financial systems, automation and reporting processes
  • Providing commercial insight and financial analysis to support business decisions
  • Supporting multi‑entity reporting and consolidations across the group

Qualifications

  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Previous Financial Controller experience
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Experience within infrastructure, construction, utilities, renewable energy or other asset‑intensive environments
  • Experience with project accounting and capital expenditure reporting
  • Proven ability to improve systems, controls and reporting processes
  • Strong commercial awareness and business partnering capability
  • Hands‑on approach with ability to thrive in a growing organisation
  • Experience gained within infrastructure, construction, engineering, utilities, manufacturing, project‑led organisations or other complex commercial environments
