Research Engineer

Research Engineer – Glamorgan (Hybrid) – up to £55,000 + Relocation + Benefits.

We are seeking a Research Engineer to support our cutting‑edge product development at prototype and early concept stages. The role requires freedom to explore new technologies and deliver experimental solutions for electro‑mechanical products.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and develop new technologies for mechanical, electro‑mechanical, thermal/heat transfer, optics and electronics domains.
• Analyze competitors and emerging trends to determine applicability to our products.
• Build and assemble prototypes and test equipment in the lab.
• Validate concepts through raw data and formal testing.

Essential Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in a Research Engineer, R&D, or a PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Optics or related field.
• Experience with mechanical or electro‑mechanical systems.
• Hands‑on experience building and assembling prototypes or test equipment.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience in optics / optical engineering.
• Experience in electronics.
