Job Introduction

As a Control Room Specialist at our state-of-the-art Omega Distribution Centre, you will manage and optimise the performance of our automated systems while continuously seeking opportunities to enhance warehouse efficiency.

Located at the Omega Business Park, this facility is the UK’s first of its kind. With cutting-edge automation, it promises unparalleled efficiency and speed in handling goods, ensuring our store network is fully supported.

Your responsibilities include working with WITRON automation systems to lead efforts in diagnosing and resolving technical issues, implementing process improvements, and providing daily performance reports.

Job Overview

  • Monitor Automated Warehouse Systems – Ensure trouble-free system functionality across the warehouse by overseeing integrated supply chain operations and responding proactively to system alerts.
  • Manage Material Flow and Processes – Control and optimize material flow operations to maintain efficient movement of goods through automated systems and warehouse processes.
  • Coordinate Escalation and Incident Response – Manage operational interruptions and technical breakdowns by conducting analysis, coordinating repairs, and overseeing post-incident follow-up actions.
  • Perform Troubleshooting Activities – Organize, execute, and monitor troubleshooting tasks to quickly identify and resolve technical or operational issues within the control room environment.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement Initiatives – Identify weak points and process inefficiencies through deviation and problem analysis, implementing improvements to enhance overall system performance.
  • Support Operational and Technical Teams – Provide day-to-day assistance to technical and operational resources during shift operations to ensure smooth and safe warehouse performance.
  • Deliver Knowledge Transfer and Training – Share technical expertise and operational know-how with warehouse and maintenance teams to improve competency, efficiency, and system understanding.
  • Degree-level education or technical professional training, ideally in mechanics, electrotechnics, IT, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong understanding of quality principles and continuous improvement methodologies to support operational excellence and process optimisation.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to assess system performance, identify root causes, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent organisational, coordination, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across operational and technical teams.
