Due to growth and an influx of client work, this London law firm is currently looking to recruit an Employment lawyer of 4 or more years’ PQE to advise its Education clients on Employment matters. The team undertakes legal work for schools and colleges and has built a reputation for high-quality, cost-effective advice to schools and academies. Many of the teams’ clients are inexperienced buyers of legal services but require quick, sound legal advice (often in the midst of a crisis) and a typical day would be varied as you provide advice on a wide range of employment/HR matters, including the opportunity to get involved in contentious work dealing with claims in the employment tribunal and at appeal level (including to the EAT).

The successful candidate will provide a broad range of employment advice to:

• schools

• academies

nn

• multi academy trusts

nn

• diocese and other educational institutions

nn

• strategic partners and HR consultancies in the education sector

The candidate will also provide support to the School Support team, who advise on:

• admissions

nn

• exclusions

nn

• parental complaints

nn

• FOIA and DPA

nn

• governance, contracts and safeguarding.

As an experienced Employment lawyer, you will provide day-to-day HR and clear, ‘easy to understand’ employment law advice and support in a variety of scenarios, confidently handling employment tribunal claims from inception to final hearing.
