Job Description:

Head of Video Production (AI-Enabled)

Location: London

Reporting to: Founders

Salary: Competitive + Performance Bonus

Malaberg is a fast-growing scale-up transforming lives with premium health, nutrition, and skincare brands, built entirely in-house as we scale across the UK and US markets.

We’re hiring a Head of Video Production whose foundation is traditional video production (shoots, post-production, long-form VSLs) and who is actively moving into AI-enabled video production and workflow automation.

This is a hands-on leadership and project management role. You will run the video production department end-to-end: managing remote editors, setting timelines, building systems, and owning final quality.

What You Will Do

  • Manage on-set shoots end-to-end.
  • Produce high-quality long-form VSLs with a strong instinct for story arc, pacing, music, and retention.
  • Build and own AI-enabled video workflows using tools including: HeyGen, Kling, VO3, ElevenLabs, RunwayML, and emerging platforms.
  • Drive high-volume, low-cost ad variation testing across the department.
  • Bridge AI-generated assets and traditional post-production.
  • Run the video department: manage remote editors and film crews, evaluate quality, set realistic timelines, and prevent bottlenecks.
  • Assess editor output and provide technically grounded feedback.
  • Build and maintain clean production systems in Notion: asset tracking, status visibility, and performance linkage to ad platforms.
  • Stay ahead of the frontier: evaluate new tools and integrate the ones that improve the department’s output while not compromising quality.

What We’re Looking For

  • A mid-tier producer, ex-freelancer, or senior editor at a rapid-growth eCommerce brand (£/$10M+) ready to own a department.
  • Background in fast-turnaround environments such as DTC, e-commerce, social, gaming, or lead gen. You have a 48-hour sprint mentality, not a 6-week production cycle mindset.
  • You have edited professionally. You can open Premiere Pro or After Effects at 6pm on a Friday and fix the edit yourself.
  • You are already using AI video tools in your current work. You can name and demonstrate proficiency with at least two frontier tools.
  • You have built production systems from scratch. You know what breaks first and what you changed.
  • You clear roadblocks rather than restructuring around them. Self-managing, tech-curious, and hands-on.
  • Strong remote team management experience: you have held a quality bar across a distributed roster of editors.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience with AI video generation tools: generative video, AI audio, or multi-tool pipeline workflows.
  • Familiarity with performance marketing and ad creative in a D2C context.
  • Experience scaling a content production department from early-stage to high volume.
  • A niche technical hobby or side project that demonstrates you go deep, not just broad.

How To Apply

Apply with your CV, a portfolio or showreel link, and a brief note on the AI video tools you are currently using in production work. If we think there is alignment, you will be invited to a 30-minute online screening interview. If successful, you will be invited to complete a role-specific task. Finalists will be invited to an in-person interview at our London office.
