We’re looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to join our Consulting Technology team at Campden BRI, home-based with regular travel to our Chipping Campden site and client locations.
The role: You’ll be at the forefront of growing Campden BRI’s portfolio in R&D and technology consultancy — identifying new customers, building strategic partnerships, and executing targeted sales campaigns on a global scale. Reporting to the Global Sales Territory Manager, you’ll work closely with technical teams to convert opportunities into fee-earning work and support the Associate Director of Consulting Technology in delivering ambitious sales growth.
What you’ll do
- Drive proactive business development — identifying market trends, generating new leads, and building long-term client partnerships
- Lead new client acquisition globally, with a particular focus on R&D and technology consultancy services
- Collaborate with technical experts across the business to identify and develop sales opportunities
- Execute targeted campaigns and manage the full sales pipeline from enquiry to close
- Apply consultative selling techniques to understand client challenges and match them with the right solutions
- Maintain accurate records of all client engagements through CRM systems
About you
- Proven new business development experience in a consultative, technical sales environment
- Degree in science or technology, or equivalent professional experience
- Proven track record selling food consulting or R&D services to food industry clients
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to assess opportunities and understand service profitability
- Excellent communicator — confident engaging with technical experts and senior stakeholders alike
- Self-motivated, highly organised, and comfortable working with autonomy in a target-driven environment
- Full, clean driving licence
