Portfolio Underwriting Analyst

Edenbrook are partnering with a leading Lloyd’s Insurer in the search for a Portfolio Underwriting Analyst to join a high-performing Underwriting Performance function.

This is an excellent opportunity for an analytically minded insurance professional to play a key role in supporting portfolio oversight, underwriting performance analysis, and strategic decision-making across a diverse Lloyd’s and London Market portfolio

Key Responsibilities

• Support the analysis and monitoring of underwriting portfolio performance across multiple classes of business
• Analyse key performance indicators including premium growth, loss ratios, combined ratios, rate change, exposure metrics, and profitability trends
• Assist in identifying portfolio performance issues, emerging risks, and opportunities for portfolio optimisatisation
• Support underwriting teams through the provision of data-driven insight and performance analysis
• Contribute to portfolio reviews, business planning exercises, and capacity allocation discussions
• Assist in monitoring delegated authority and MGA performance, including KPI tracking and portfolio reporting where required
• Work closely with underwriting, actuarial, finance, claims, exposure management, and operations teams to ensure consistency of portfolio reporting and performance assessment
• Support the development and enhancement of portfolio management dashboards, reporting tools, and MI processes
• Help improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and analytical capabilities across the portfolio management function

Skills & Experience Required:

• 2–5 years’ experience within the Lloyd’s and London Market insurance sector
• Experience gained within portfolio management, underwriting performance, actuarial, exposure management, reinsurance, or underwriting analytics functions
