Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with a range of SEN, including physical, learning, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Assist with the delivery of tailored learning plans and activities.
- Help create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- Encourage social interaction and independence amongst students.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support in the classroom.
- Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and other staff members to monitor student progress.
- Support students with their emotional and personal development.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience working with children or young people (SEN experience is desirable but not essential).
- A genuine passion for working with children with diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- An understanding of safeguarding practices and procedures.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting
Desirable Qualifications:
- A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Special Educational Needs (or similar) is preferred.
- First Aid training is a bonus.
