Position: Mental Health Support Worker

Contract Type: Permanent – Fully office based

Salary: £26,980

Rota Basis Hours: 8:30am – 5pm Monday to Friday, with one late shift of 12:30pm – 9pm. Weekend shifts are 9am – 9pm Saturday and Sunday, or 10am – 8pm Saturday and Sunday

Required

  • Education: Psychology undergraduate degree or equivalent
  • Experience: 2 years
  • Industry: Health and social care
  • Specific skills: As on the person spec
  • Personality & attributes: As on the person spec
  • Top 5 priorities: Commute 1 hour or less, education/experience, digital dexterity/computer skills, knowledge of mental health diagnoses, admin skills

What You’ll Do

  • Support Clients: Provide tailored support and guidance to individuals in recovery, helping them set and achieve personal goals
  • Collaborate: Work closely with a diverse team of professionals to create individualised recovery plans
  • Facilitate Workshops: Organise and lead workshops that promote skills development, resilience, and self-confidence
  • Community Engagement: Foster connections within the community to enhance support networks for clients
  • Monitor Progress: Regularly assess clients’ progress and adjust recovery plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes

  • Experience: Proven experience in recovery support, social work, or a related field
  • Empathy: A genuine passion for helping others and a strong understanding of the recovery process
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to build trust and rapport with clients

  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
