Job Title: Neurological Occupational Therapist

Working Pattern: Full Time – Monday to Friday

Contract Length: ASAP Start – Potentially until January 2027
Job Summary: An experienced Neurological Occupational Therapist is required to support a specialist neurological rehabilitation service within a private rehabilitation centre in Birmingham. The successful candidate will work with patients presenting with complex neurological conditions, including individuals recovering from acquired brain injury. The role requires a clinician who is confident working autonomously within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation environment and able to manage patients presenting with cognitive impairment and upper limb spasticity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist occupational therapy assessment and treatment for patients with neurological conditions including acquired brain injury.
- Deliver rehabilitation interventions to support functional independence and cognitive recovery.
- Assess and manage patients with cognitive impairment following neurological injury.
- Implement treatment programmes addressing upper limb spasticity and functional upper limb use.
- Develop goal-oriented rehabilitation plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Work closely with physiotherapists, nurses, speech and language therapists and medical staff to support patient recovery.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional and organisational standards.
- Support discharge planning and community reintegration where appropriate.
Essential Requirements
- HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working within neurological rehabilitation settings.
- Experience managing patients with acquired brain injury.
- Knowledge and experience in cognitive rehabilitation.
- Experience managing upper limb spasticity.
- Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills.
Desirable - Previous experience within inpatient neurological rehabilitation.
- Experience working within private rehabilitation services.

Pay Rate
£24 per hour PAYEEquivalent to approximately £30 per hour Umbrella
