Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- Duration: Permanent
- Location: Inverclyde Royal Hospital
- Hours: Part‑time (28 hours per week)
- Working Pattern: Monday‑Friday
- Salary is pro‑rata for part‑time hours
Key responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, person‑centred care to patients, supporting their physical and emotional needs
- Undertake a range of clinical tasks and observations under the direction of a Registered Nurse
- Monitor and report changes in patients’ condition to ensure safe and responsive care delivery
- Support patients with mobility and safe transfers using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to effective communication within the team
- Follow all policies, procedures and safety standards, including infection prevention and health and safety
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe and well‑equipped clinical environment, including stock control
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
- SVQ Level 3 in a relevant subject or equivalent experience within a healthcare setting
- Understanding of Healthcare Support Worker standards and code of conduct
- Demonstrate experience providing direct patient care within a clinical or care environment
- Good communication, literacy, numeracy and basic IT skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to ongoing learning and completion of mandatory and in‑house training
- Caring, compassionate approach with the ability to respond sensitively to patient needs
