Overview

The role of Craftsperson (Linesperson) offers an exciting and diverse array of challenges and excellent opportunities for personal development.

Responsibilities

  • Construct, repair and refurbish SPEN’s overhead network (up to 33kV) in the DVMW area.
  • Participate as part of a team and maintain fault finding, repair and construction of overhead network.
  • Plan and pre‑vet jobs for daily and fault scenarios.
  • Understand SPEN network diagrams and obtain materials via SPEN stores application.
  • Operate vehicles (on and off‑road) and use overhead equipment.
  • Work day and night in adverse weather conditions.
  • Create risk assessments before work commences.
  • Receive job‑specific safety documents and connect generators.
  • Keep up‑to‑date with booking of daily hours and work to a high standard.
  • Demonstrate highest levels of health and safety in line with SPEN safety rules.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Customer‑focused with clear communication.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Well organised, self‑motivated, and happy working as part of a team.
  • Ability to complete paperwork for work‑based activities.
  • iPhone and computer proficient.
  • Join the current standby rota.

  • Qualified overhead lines craftsperson with appropriate suite of training and authorisations up to 33kV.
  • Full valid driving licence.
