Sample Machinist

Overview

Stratton Mills are an employment agency who provide Fashion Personnel around the UK. We have a great opportunity for Sample Machinists. Successful candidates will be offered full time/part time shifts on a temp to perm/permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Provided with the patterns you will be responsible for the creation of the garment
• Working with various fabrics and garments including dresses, trousers, light tailoring etc.
• Using machinery including Lock Stitch, Over Lock, Binder, Chain Stitch Binder, Twin Needle, Cover Stitch, Hemmer, Flat Lock, Button Hole, Button Machine etc.
• Changing machines to fit the requirements of the fabrics working on.
• Reading and understanding specification sheets.

Ideal Candidate

• Good attention to detail
• Experience of working to targets
• Excellent understanding of garment construction.
• Proven ability to work on various fabrics and garments.
• Excellent cutting and stitching
• Ability to change machines to the requirements of the fabric working on.
• Knowledge of reading and understanding specification sheets.
• A minimum of 3 years sewing experience gained within the industry.
