Overall Job Purpose

Working individually and on occasions as part of a team to operate a range of machinery to produce a variety of metal materials with manual and automated equipment, to a high quality standard meeting hourly production targets

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining high quality standards at all times for standard and bespoke products
  • Proactive communication with supervisors, managers and Quality Control regarding production, quality and H&S issues.
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy work area
  • Maintaining H&S standards following instructions and wearing of appropriate PPE

General Requirements

  • Previous experience of working in engineering sheet metal production, setting and operating CNC press-brakes
  • Regular quality checks
  • Following internal processes
  • Completing paperwork
  • Understanding of basic IT

Qualifications/Courses/Experience

  • Previous experience of Trumpf machines
  • Previous experience of using measuring equipment
  • Practical awareness of lean manufacturing and understanding of 5S activities
  • Understanding of Engineering drawings

  • Able to work under own initiative and on occasion under pressure whilst adhering to strict deadlines and demands
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Operational Fault Finding and problem solving
  • Work independently and part of a team.
  • Manual dexterity
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness
  • Manage self, working/assisting colleagues obtaining their involvement and buy in
  • Effective contribution

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary ranges from £12.75 to £14.00 per hour, depending on experience.
  • This position is permanent and offers a temp-to-perm opportunity after 13 weeks.

Working Hours

Working a 37 hour week – Monday to Thursday
