About The Role

This position is based at either the Fenny Lock National Distribution Centre or the Magna Park National Distribution Centre. The salary range is £36,400 – £55,800 and the role requires a 42‑hour work week on a 4‑week DuPont shift pattern (14 × 12.5 hour shifts combining day and night duties) with 7 consecutive days off.

As an Engineering Technician you will support the operation of our industry‑leading semi‑automated sites, maintaining the complex building services infrastructure that powers over 150 million pounds of automation equipment. Your technical presence will cover mechanical systems, MHE, HVAC, automation, power and data networks, ensuring fault diagnosis and remedial actions to minimise risk and sustain service levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute preventative maintenance and reactive tasks in line with health & safety governance, legislation and SLA requirements.
  • Diagnose faults in electro‑mechanical systems and building services, providing technical advice to leadership during emergencies.
  • Support branch change‑works and development projects.
  • Carry out operational processes to mitigate business risk and loss.
  • Offer flexibility by supporting other areas on campus.
  • Utilise engineering infrastructure IT systems.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Read electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings and fault‑find to component level.
  • Experience in building environmental and electrical services, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
  • Electrical qualification: City & Guilds 2365‑03 Level 3 Diploma, 2382‑22 Level 3 Award, AM2(E) Assessment, 2357 NVQ Portfolio, 2391‑52 Level 3 Award or equivalent; JIB Gold Card approved electrician; HNC/HND/Level 6 in an electrical discipline.
  • Mechanical qualification: City & Guilds 6188‑30 Level 3 Diploma, 6288‑31 Level 3 Qualification, 6187‑04 Level 3 NVQ Certificate, 6187‑06 Level 3 NVQ Diploma or equivalent; NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical discipline.
