Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Castleford

Salary: Up to £45,000 DOE + Overtime (1.5x) + 15.5 Days Holiday (Increases up to 17.5 Days) + Pension + PPE/Workwear + Ongoing Training and Specialised Safety Certificates

Shift: 4 on 4 off : 6am to 6pm

Role Overview

This position is for a mechanically biased engineer with knowledge of valves, pumps, motors, sprockets and chains. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment operating 24/7, including bitumen blending tanks, high‑speed lamination lines, and thermal oil systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to reactive maintenance needs on breakdowns.
• Execute Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPMs) on conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, rollers, etc.
• Work on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Participate in project works.
• Support shift work when required to cover holidays.

Additional Information

• 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
• Experience in MIG welding is not essential.
