An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Manual Lathe Machinist to join our client’s successful team.

Operating a busy workshop environment, they provide a wide range of machining, fabrication and engineering services to industrial customers.

Duties of a Manual Lathe Machinist:
- Operating manual lathes to manufacture and repair precision components
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and CAD models
- Setting and adjusting machines to required specifications
- Machining components in a range of metal and plastic materials
- Carrying out milling, grinding and assembly duties where required
- Working to tight tolerances and quality standards
- Using measuring equipment including calipers and micrometers
- Supporting the repair of pumps, motors, gearboxes and related industrial equipment components
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment
- Supporting production deadlines and workshop efficiency
What we would like from you:
- Previous experience operating manual lathes
- Strong understanding of machining principles and workshop practices
- Experience with milling, grinding or general mechanical assembly
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Experience machining metal and plastic materials desirable
- Good knowledge of measuring equipment and tolerances
- Mechanical aptitude with tooling, fixtures and machine setup
- Reliable with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
