Laser and Brake Press Operator (CAD Training) – PAYE
Pay: £17‑20 per hour + training. 4‑day working week (Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am‑5:00 pm). Location: Halifax.
We are looking for an experienced Laser or Brake Press Operator to join a well‑established manufacturing business that has been producing high‑quality products worldwide for over 30 years. The role offers CAD training, clear progression, and a stable 4‑day week in a growing production environment.
Role Overview
As a Laser and Brake Press Operator you will set and run Trumpf fibre laser cutting machines and LVD PPEB Brake Presses to manufacture precision sheet‑metal components. You will read technical drawings, support fabrication and welding teams, handle material, set up machinery, change tooling and perform quality checks throughout production.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Trumpf fibre laser cutting machines and LVD PPEB Brake Presses
- Produce precision sheet‑metal components from technical drawings
- Support fabrication and welding teams and other production staff
- Perform material handling, machine set‑ups, tooling changes and quality checks
- Attend CAD and Radan nesting training and progress to a senior or lead position
Person Specification
- CNC laser or brake press operator with demonstrable experience
- Competent at reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Commuter to Halifax
- Strong focus on accuracy, efficiency and quality standards
