Highways Maintenance Operative

Job Overview

We are looking for a Highways Maintenance Operative to join our Transportation team based in Yeovil, Somerset. This permanent, full‑time role is not open to sponsorship. With Jobs for Humanity collaborating with Kier, we support individuals from all walks of life.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to highway defects, ensuring public safety and minimal disruption.
• Install and remove emergency traffic management signage as needed.
• Use tablet devices to maintain accurate records of work and communicate updates.
• Provide excellent customer care through polite, helpful interactions.
• Support winter maintenance and severe weather operations as required.

Qualifications

• Hold a full driving licence (LGV training will be provided once business targets are met).
• Collaborate effectively within a supportive team.
• Reliable and committed to delivering high‑quality work.
• Care about community safety and providing excellent service.
• Adaptable to various weather conditions.
