Job Description:

The Highways Maintenance Inspector will be part of the Highway Asset Management Team acting as the Local Highway Authority within City of York Council highway boundary.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out highway inspections and keep the highway network safe for the travelling public.
  • Drive and walk the city network on a regular basis, using electronic systems to survey and record actionable defects.
  • Issue works orders once defects are identified.
  • Work closely with Operational Repair Gangs and Site Agents to rectify identified defects.

Working Arrangements

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
