Prestigious Hertfordshire-based family business set within a stunning countryside setting is seeking a Finance Assistant to join its friendly and collaborative finance team on a part-time basis, working 30 hours per week. Offering a salary of up to £32,000 pro rata, this Finance Assistant opportunity is ideal for someone with strong accounts payable and purchase ledger experience who enjoys working in a varied and fast-paced environment. The Finance Assistant will support multiple business operations, ensuring accurate financial processing, maintaining excellent supplier relationships, and contributing to the smooth running of the wider office function.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing accounts payable invoices using the company accounting system
- Managing purchase ledger activities and supplier queries
- Reconciling supplier statements and bank accounts
- Managing utilities administration across the business
- Handling company credit card reconciliations and approvals
- Supporting the wider office team with administrative duties
- Providing ad hoc support across the business when required
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience within a Finance Assistant or Accounts Payable role
- Strong purchase ledger and accounts payable knowledge
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities
- Analytical and proactive approach to problem solving
- Ability to work independently within a small team
- Confident communication skills across all levels
- Flexible and willing to support broader office operations
- Own transport essential due to rural location
Desirable
- AAT qualification or studying towards AAT
Salary & Hours
- Up to £32,000 pro rata
- 30 hours per week across 5 days preferred, with flexibility for 4 full days
