Community Engagement Lead – London Violence Reduction Unit (VRU)
We are looking for a Community Engagement Lead to join London’s Violence Reduction Unit (VRU). The VRU focuses on stopping violence before it happens through prevention and early intervention. The role involves working in partnership with communities, councils, NHS, public health, police, schools, colleges, charities and other sectors to coordinate efforts and drive change.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop youth work programmes.
- Coordinate work with faith and housing sectors.
- Lead the community outreach programme.
- Help develop the VRU’s pilot programme designed to enable the faith sector to contribute to violence reduction.

Political Restriction
All members of staff working with the VRU will be politically restricted under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 (as amended by the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011) without the right to apply for an exemption.
Security Vetting Clearance
The successful candidate will be expected to undergo a DBS enhanced check, which may take around eight weeks to be completed.

Where are we based?
