What you will do
- Undertake duty work, including screening referrals, making threshold decisions, and initiating Section 17 and Section 47 inquiries in line with the Children Act 1989
- Complete timely and high‑quality child and family assessments, identifying risks, needs, and protective factors
- Manage a caseload of short‑term statutory interventions, progressing cases towards appropriate services or longer‑term teams
- Work collaboratively with multi‑agency professionals to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes
Person Specification
Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Work or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Registration & Compliance:
- Registered with Social Work England
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and Care Planning, Placement, and Case Review Regulations
- Understanding of safeguarding frameworks and risk management processes
