We are currently seeking an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join our frontline children’s services team supporting vulnerable children and families across the western area of the county.
This is a hybrid role with an expectation that workers will be office-based during duty week. While there is flexibility to work from home, we are ideally seeking candidates who are comfortable working primarily from the office.
About the Role
As a Children’s Social Worker, you will be responsible for:
- Assessing need and risk for vulnerable children and families
- Delivering high-quality assessments and care plans
- Undertaking child protection investigations where appropriate
- Working to prevent family breakdown and improve outcomes for children
- Ensuring children and young people are safeguarded in line with statutory responsibilities and local procedures
Requirements
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong assessment and risk identification skills
- Experience undertaking child protection investigations and care planning
- Ability to complete direct work with children and young people to identify needs and improve outcomes
- Strong multi-agency working experience
- A sound understanding of safeguarding policies, procedures, and relevant legislation
