Responsibilities

Support the SEND Assessment Officer to co‑ordinate Education, Health and Care (EHC) Assessments and issue or amend EHC Plans in accordance with the Children and Families Act 2014, the SEND Regulations 2014 and subsequent legislation, and have responsibility for associated casework such as attendance at annual reviews and sourcing school placements.

Advise parents, young people and professionals on the EHC needs assessment procedures and ensure the preparation of information to parents and schools meets the statutory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Enthusiastic, hardworking and highly organised with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capable of managing a busy workload with competing priorities to ensure statutory timescales are adhered to and a high‑quality service to families.
  • Working knowledge of SEND and experience liaising with parents/carers, schools and other agencies across education, health and social care.
  • Strong communication and good ICT skills.
  • Specified level of spoken English as per the person specification (customer‑facing role under the fluency duty).
