We are looking for dedicated Social Care Assistants who can provide high‑quality direct care and support to residents at the Chesham Short Breaks Centre. Our day centres provide day support and activities for adults with learning disabilities, autism, dementia and/or physical disabilities. While some services are more specialised, the core focus across all centres is to deliver high‑quality care and support to individuals and their families, helping people learn new skills, build friendships, and develop greater independence through a wide range of activities.

Working patterns will be discussed at interview. Please state your preference within your expression of interest.

Salary: £25,151 – £28,253 per annum pro rata. In addition, you’ll receive a ‘Golden Hello’ payment of £1,000 paid on successful completion of your probationary period (payment will be pro rata for part‑time hours).

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing personal care for individuals, including dressing, toileting and washing.
  • Key working a small group of clients
  • Organising and facilitating activity sessions

About You

You will be a great people person, able to deliver practical care and support to an agreed plan, within the community or as part of a CQC regulated function, using your own initiative to problem‑solve and manage remotely where required. You may need to undertake a specialist role that requires specific training (e.g. autism services) or administer personal care and/or medication. The ideal candidate will have a minimum Level 2 Care Certificate. On occasion you may be required to work at our other day centres so the ability to be flexible and to travel is an essential requirement.
