Agency Overview
London Fire Brigade (LFB) is London’s fire and rescue service – one of the largest firefighting and rescue organisations in the world. We employ over 5,000 people across operational, control and non‑operational teams, including Fleet, IT, HR, Finance, Procurement and Communications.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Operational Improvement Department.
- Schedule meetings on Teams and in person, and attend meetings to provide timely and accurate minutes.
- Handle enquiries related to the Incident Monitoring Process Database and the Operations Review Team (ORT).
- Coordinate the development and production of documents with Heads of Services.
- Work collaboratively with internal clients across multiple departments and with external stakeholders.
- Produce detailed written work under tight deadlines, demonstrating strong communication, prioritisation and organisational skills.
- Maintain management processes and systems that deliver clear and actionable information to senior leaders.
- Approve quarterly performance and review reports, securing sign‑off from senior leadership.
- Assist in drawing up meeting agendas, inviting stakeholders and gathering supporting documents.
- Work from other brigade premises as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience coordinating and managing work streams to achieve organisational objectives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Teams, and other information‑technology applications for maintaining management information systems.
- Ability to manage workloads, prioritise effectively, handle changing and conflicting priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of drafting reports, correspondence, policy documents and meeting notes.
