Quality Technician – Engineering – Manufacturing – Bury St Edmund’s, Suffolk – Negotiable Salary (DOE) + Benefits

Are you an experienced in Quality Technician looking to play a key role in ensuring product quality within a busy engineering environment?

We are currently recruiting for a Quality Technician to join a growing manufacturing business. Reporting to the QC Manager, you will be responsible for inspecting incoming, in-process, and returned goods, ensuring they meet company and industry standards.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong inspection experience, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out inspection of incoming, in-process, and returned goods using company systemsPerform quality checks and tests (including dimensional checks)Interpret engineering drawings, material certificates, and technical documentationConduct First Article Inspection (FAI) and compile detailed reportsMaintain traceability and control of certification records and documentationEnsure all measurement equipment is calibrated and within specificationCoordinate and support external visits with customers and certification bodiesSupport continuous improvement initiatives across QA and inspection processesMaintain high standards of housekeeping and 5S within the departmentAbout You

Minimum 2 year’s experience in quality technician or engineering roleExperience using metrology equipment (e.g. verniers, height gauges, etc.)Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical dataStrong communication skills with the ability to work with internal teams and external stakeholdersHighly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesProactive, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a teamEngineering apprenticeship or relevant qualification preferred (degree advantageous)Desirable Skills

Experience with advanced inspection equipment (e.g. Faro arm)Knowledge of ISO 9001 and internal auditing processesExperience within machining, casting, or valve manufacturing industriesFamiliarity with problem-solving tools (e.g. 5Y, 8D) and MRP systemsUnderstanding of techniques such as NDT, PMI, or hardness testingWhat’s on Offer
