We are currently seeking a Structural Revit technician to join our team in London.
Job Summary
As a structural Revit technician at LSY Engineering Consultants Ltd, you will have the opportunity to work on live ongoing projects while receiving support from a team of experienced professionals, ranging from graduates to chartered engineers. Your role will involve collaborating with architects and other engineering disciplines to develop integrated design solutions. We are committed to supporting your professional development.
Requirements
- Higher National Certificate in Engineering or Architecture.
- At least 3 years of full-time experience preferably in a structural practice.
- Significant experience of project delivery using Revit and Auto CAD.
- Perform drafting and technical tasks as required throughout project duration.
- Participate in entire design process including the preparation of schematic design, design development, construction documentation and any additional drawings or models required.
- Transform conceptual/schematic designs using Revit into working construction drawings.
- Review drawings to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
- Coordination of design work with in-house staff as well as other design professionals.
- Taking responsibility for checking own work and that produced by others, including external consultants, sub-consultants, and contractors.
- Completing work to agreed timescales, program, and budgetary constraints.
- Desire to work in team environment, both with other engineers, architects and with other professionals.
- Ability to work under medium & low level of supervision.
- Experience at MS Office package.
- Experience with temporary works preferable.
- Ability to attend design meetings, present design solutions and make relevant notes.
- Readiness to travel to site for the purpose of site surveys.
- The role will require the ideal candidate to implement all changes to current BIM library and create templates (Revit, AutoCAD etc.)
- Have experience with “Common Data Environments (CDE).”
- Create and/or manage modelling protocols that allow for export of content to analysis and visualization software and to other BIM software.
- Understand BIM Execution Plans.
- Train the other design team members with efficient use of design tools (Revit, AutoCAD etc.)
What successful candidate would ideally also demonstrate is
- Experienced user of Revit and Auto CAD.
- Extensive knowledge of construction details the capacity to produce structural detail drawings from engineers’ details and produce detailed construction drawings.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of the review/coordination processes.
- Experience/knowledge of collaboration tools e.g. Solibri, Navisworks, Forma, Asite and Procure.
- Ability to read construction documents.
- Autodesk Certified Qualification in Revit is beneficial.
- Ability and willingness to learn latest programs as required by individual projects.
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Site inspection and survey experience ideal but not essential.
