We are looking for a Paralegal to join one of our clients who specialise in Employment Law. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their legal career who wants hands‑on experience in a specialist, Central London based employment law firm and is keen to learn quickly while contributing to a growing and ambitious team.

The details

  • This is a full‑time role and requires a minimum of 3‑12 months prior experience in an Employment Law firm or department (ideally London based)
  • The role is £35k salary with two bonus schemes

The role

The role will involve supporting the Managing Partner and other solicitors across a broad range of employment law matters, while also managing elements of client work under supervision. You will gain exposure to a wide range of high quality employment work including:

  • Supporting solicitors with client matters and case preparation
  • Undertaking supervised client work and communicating directly with clients
  • Conducting legal research and case law analysis
  • Preparing first drafts of correspondence, advice notes, employment contracts, directors’ service agreements, grievances, appeal letters and settlement agreements
  • Reviewing client files and collating key documentation and background information
  • Arranging meetings and keeping clients updated on case progress
  • Handling initial client enquiries and directing matters to the appropriate solicitor
  • Attending meetings, conferences and Employment Tribunal hearings to take notes and support counsel where required
  • Keeping up to date with employment law developments and maintaining the firm’s know‑how bank

Who you are

This role is suited to someone who is early in their legal career and looking to build strong foundations in employment law. We are looking for someone with:

  • 3‑12 months or more experience as a paralegal in an Employment Law firm or department, ideally in a London firm
  • Excellent academics, ideally with the LPC
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with familiarity with legal resources such as Practical Law and LexisNexis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively under time pressure
  • Confidence communicating with clients and building strong professional relationships
