In this position, you will provide confidential and effective administrative support to the Professional Education & Development Team. You will need strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise the demands of a busy team. We’re looking for someone who is calm, motivated, and adaptable, with a positive and flexible approach to their work and the resilience to manage changing or challenging situations.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to work independently, showing initiative and a willingness to support colleagues as an integral member of the team. They must be able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines to fulfil the requirements of the role, working with others to deliver a high‑quality and seamless service. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage sensitive and challenging situations. The role also requires confident use of computers for word processing and database management. There is a requirement for the post holder to travel between trust locations in Staffordshire, Stoke on Trent and Shropshire, and other locations.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
- Good standard of general education including GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent level of qualification)
- NVQ Level 3, RSA III or equivalent level of secretarial/administrative experience or actively working towards.
Experience
- Relevant secretarial experience as Team Secretary/Administrator
- Experience of dealing with sensitive/distressing issues
- Experience of producing documents, reports, etc to a high standard from handwritten and audio transcription
- Previous experience of data input
- Experience of minute taking and transcribing
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Demonstrate the ability to prioritise workload in order to meet deadlines
- Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of effective team working
- Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of confidentiality
- Excellent organisational skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages e.g. Word, Excel, etc.
- Able to work on own initiative
- Ability to meet the travel requirements of the post including cover at other offices as required to ensure adequate service provision
- High level communication skills (written and verbal)
- Use of internal and external systems
