We’re looking for compassionate, reliable, and values‑driven individuals to join our Dorset Outreach team in Weymouth.

This isn’t just a role—it’s an opportunity to build a meaningful one-to-one relationship, support independence, and make a real difference every single day.

You’ll be supporting a remarkable gentleman living with Huntington’s disease, helping him to stay active, engaged, and independent in the ways that matter most to him. This is a highly personalised support package, delivered consistently by a small, trusted team who value respect, dignity, and genuine human connection.

About the Person You’ll Support

The gentleman you’ll be supporting lives independently in Weymouth and has a rich range of interests, passions, and life experiences.

He values clear, confident verbal communication and benefits from calm, thoughtful support that respects his pace and preferences. His support is centred around maintaining independence, wellbeing, and enjoyment of life, with activities tailored to what he enjoys most, including Fishing, running, walking, staying active, arts & Crafts, attending Clubs.

His Support is provided on a 1:1 basis, allowing you to build a strong, positive working relationship focused on trust, consistency, and understanding.

What is required from you?

  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work
  • Encouraging activities he enjoys
  • Promoting independence and wellbeing in a respectful, person‑centred way (experience with learning disabilities and complex needs desirable, not essential)
  • Willingness to learn and work closely with a tight‑knit team
  • A Full UK driving Licence
  • Working 5 hours a day Monday to Saturday, 9am-2pm, flexibility on occasions

As part of your day to day work you will be offering the following:

  • Encouraging – people to play active roles in the communities in which they live, to encourage independence.
  • Supporting – Activities of daily Living including social activities, personal care, routines, planning and preparation of meals and budgeting.
  • Communicating – effectively communicate using people’s chosen methods.
  • Engaging – promoting and motivating people we support to enhance their quality of life.
  • Specialising – supporting people who may need positive behavioural support approaches.
  • Recording – keeping accurate records & reporting changes in health or circumstances of service users to management.
  • Team player – working as part of a team, as well as being able to work using your own initiative.
