Location: Lincoln
Job Description:

Community Psychiatric Nurse

The closing date is 14 June 2026

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a full‑time Band 6 CPN to join our Locality Mental Health Team supporting the North area of Lincoln.

We are looking for a highly motivated RMN who is keen to join a supportive and recovery‑focused service, working with service users experiencing severe and enduring mental ill‑health.

The post holder will work within a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team including Community Mental Health Nurses, Recovery Practitioners, Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners, Psychological Intervention Facilitators, Nursing Associates, Community Support Workers, Psychiatrists, Psychologists and admin staff. The post holder will also work alongside Neighbourhood Teams, Integrated Placement Based Teams, Adult Social Care, GP surgeries and other partner organisations to ensure the best outcomes for patients and carers.

The candidate will be committed to a recovery‑focused way of working, inherent within the team culture, empowering and instilling hope to our service users.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will provide high‑quality person‑centred care to patients, families and carers. The applicant will act as Lead Healthcare Professional, undertake comprehensive evidence‑based assessments and have a sound knowledge of psycho‑social interventions, supporting service users to work towards recovery goals, build self‑resilience and promote independent living.

The successful applicant will require enthusiasm for service development within a complex and changing service and therefore excellent communication and leadership skills are required.

The applicant must have a flexible and ‘can do’ approach, with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changes, often at short notice. A positive attitude is essential for effective teamwork and management of the challenges and complexities within our work.

The successful applicant will be offered robust clinical and managerial supervision on a regular basis to help them complete their role to the best of their ability and with sound knowledge and confidence. Additional training courses are available and the applicant will be encouraged to participate to continue with their own professional development and stay up to date with recent evidence‑based practice.

The post holder will also need the ability to travel independently in the community to deliver services, with a hybrid approach to working.
