An excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and organised Operations Assistant to join a collaborative insurance operations environment within the London market. This role plays a key part in supporting underwriting operations through accurate data processing, quality control, and message management across multiple classes of business. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately process risk and aggregate data entries across core underwriting and operational systems within agreed service levels.
  • Conduct data quality control checks to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal standards.
  • Process and validate underwriting and claims market messages, investigating and resolving exceptions, failures, and queries where required.
  • Provide operational support to underwriting teams to ensure efficient transaction processing and smooth day-to-day workflow.
  • Support the achievement of team service standards and performance targets through effective workload management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, controls, and efficiencies as part of a continuous improvement culture.
  • Build strong working relationships with underwriting teams and key internal stakeholders across multiple lines of business.
  • Assist with ad hoc operational and administrative tasks as required.
  • Escalate issues and complex queries appropriately to team leadership.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience within Lloyd’s or London Market insurance operations.
  • Strong understanding of syndicate operations, delegated authority, and open market business processes.
  • Familiarity with London Market systems such as PPL and Whitespace.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.

Desirable but Not Essential

  • Progress towards or completion of CertCII qualifications.
  • Exposure to multiple classes of business within the London insurance market.
  • Experience contributing to process improvement initiatives within an operations environment.
