Land Coordinator Role Overview

The Land Coordinator acts as the central point of contact for all land-related matters within the Integrated Project Team (IPT). The role provides coordination, guidance, and escalation, ensuring the correct subject matter experts are engaged and that issues are progressed efficiently through the appropriate governance routes. The position operates as a “guiding mind”, maintaining oversight of land issues rather than delivering detailed technical solutions, and escalating matters to Land & Property (L&P) management or Land Boards where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • First point of contact for the IPT on all land matters
  • Coordinate land-related issues across subject matter experts, PMs, and contractors
  • Escalate issues to L&P management and Land Boards as required
  • Support activities including land acquisition, access, handback, disposal, complaints, utilities issues, accommodation works, and drainage
  • Manage land outside of limits (LOL) requests, Notice to Treat, and Notice of Entry matters
  • Interface with contractor land teams, ALOs, utilities, and authorities
  • Act as the key land contact for L&P (including Property Management)
  • Identify land-related risks and support assurance processes
  • Attend weekly FLAB meetings and provide assurance on CLR and ULR requests
  • Coordinate weekly and monthly transmission of land data for notices, GIS, and CEMAR
  • Support business improvement initiatives relating to land and property
  • Ensure consistent approaches across Area North by liaising with Central and South Land Coordinators
  • Support L&P with coordination relating to Notices of Entry on Notice to Treat land
  • Assist with Schedule 16 land handback planning (200Land Acquisition Areas)
  • Review fencing, access, and utility requirements at IDR stage
  • Support land transition and handover activities across the programme

Role Context

Area-wide role covering all Area North contracts (MWCC, stations). High-volume, multi-disciplinary coordination role. Focused on connection, oversight, and escalation rather than detailed delivery.

We welcome applications from every walk of life and are committed to diversity within the industries we support, as a certified Inclusive Recruiter and Armed Forces friendly employer.
