Literacy and Reading Support Assistant

Chessington School

Hours: 36 hours per week

Working Weeks: 39 weeks per annum

Permanent Position

Salary: £33,987 – £38,739 (FTE)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our literacy team in this exciting role. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining the success of our library and the Accelerated Reader programme. The role will also include small group and one-to-one literacy and EAL interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be able to multitask and manage their work well under strict deadlines.

  • Have a high level of literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.

  • Have a passion for reading and an up to date knowledge of relevant books for secondary students.

  • Have a practical approach with excellent planning and organisational skills.

  • Enhanced Disclosure required from the DBS.
