Young Persons Support Worker
Are you passionate about making a difference in people’s lives? We’re seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our team. You’ll work closely with clients facing a range of challenges, including homelessness, substance misuse, mental health issues, and trauma.
What you’ll be doing
- To support the children and young people in all day-to-day activities and interests.
- Restraint trained, or be willing to undergo the 3-day course.
- To promote the young person’s independence and wellbeing.
- To attend weekends away, holidays and trips with the children.
- To attend weekend and evening activities to support the children and young people in their interests (e.g., climbing, baking, trips to Butlins).
- To protect the children and young people from any risks to their health and welfare.
- To provide emotional and practical support to the young people within your home.
- To ensure the safety of young people by maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines.
- To support, overcome and learn to minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging.
What you’ll need to have to be successful
- A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
- Empathetic, caring and resilient nature.
- At least 6 months experience of working with children or within a similar social care setting.
- TMVA – Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid UK Driving Licence.
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
- The right to work in the UK.

Location: Llandrindod Wells
Hours: 09:30 – 09:30 (or 22:30) per day, with flexibility as required.
You must have a Driving Licence.
